I agree! These figures are awful.
Something tells me their performance driver this time is inexperienced.
Some member of staff probably left, and the new person simply is not good enough.
Thanks all the same to White Tiger for issuing these figures.

Eh, Autocar acceleration as bad as always

User avatar

FastestLaps  2w ago @196ss

Maybe because they don't do the dreadded rollout...

User avatar

196ss  2w ago @FastestLaps

0-150 mph
Autocar - 19.2 sec
C&D - 16.8 sec

2.4 seconds is one massive rollout...

And that's despite the fact that C&D claiming to do acceleration tests with a full tank.

Maybe England press cars are rusted out straight from the showroom and have rusted dragging brakes

User avatar

Maybe fuel?
What do you use to fill up your cars in England?

User avatar

FastestLaps  2w ago @196ss

Doubt it. If anything, I believe fuel is worst in California. They add all kinds of social justice potions to it (ethanol etc). I am surprised they sell fuel at all over there. Because fossil fuel is obviously evil.

User avatar

196ss  2w ago @TypeF173

Judging by Autocar acceleration tests, you'd think wood or straw🙃

User avatar

196ss  2w ago @FastestLaps

Ethanol is supposed to increase the power I thought

User avatar

FastestLaps  2w ago @196ss

Probably. But it sucks for rubber seals.

I have to ask the question though: aren't Car and Driver very mean not to issue these figures on their website? Why I do not know. They used to!

So let me invite those of you here on Fastest Laps who do receive the C&D magazine to issue the performance figures to us please - especially those of the fast cars. Thank you from Flt 158.

User avatar

flt158  2m ago

Thank you very much, 196ss.
You're a great man.
And what a true supercar the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4RS is.

Best regards from Flt 158.

User avatar

I'm just checking: did these acceleration figures appear in the Car & Driver magazine? They are not on their website. Does anyone know?

Flt 158

User avatar

flt158  3m ago

I'm only coming across these Car & Driver acceleration figures now. They are truly remarkable. I hope that C & D are going to issue full set of such figures in the future. As we know, they stopped in the past. My special thanks to 196ss for giving us this information.

Flt 158.

Just THIS car with a manual and it would be perfect
Expensive too

I calculated the metrics of every single entry level sports car made by Porsche, from the 914 to the 982.
Some may be hot takes and require further investigation, but this is the closest thing to a complete list.
