Great car to buy , same 3.4 dfi engine as cayman gts and 991 3.4 in a lesser tune , the 987.2 is second hard bargain , Porsche simple held this engine back to fit in the model range ..

The Boxster Spyder, of which is based on this, is well documented as being 80kg lighter than the standard Boxster S. Bringing the weight of this car to 1355KG

4.5 seconds to 100 is really bullshit, even with roll out it can't hit 4.5 secs. I know as my friends drives the current boxster S. 4.5 is only possible with quite a number of modifications. Drive one and you will know what I mean. There's a reason why it's called a Boxster S and not a Carrera 4S.

@ Gran turismo S:
4,5 s measured by german AutoZeitung.
4,6 s measured by AutoBild Sportscars.

Porsche's official times are always underestimated.

it happen when many people post that the message runs out of the latest message box... we can´t check 2000 cars daily if someone posted a link to update car datas

Note that the 0-60 was using PDK gearbox and almost certainly tested with a 1ft rollout..... a more realistic time for 0-100kph is 4.6 with PDK and 4.8 for the manual.

wow in the last year they allow the car to show it´s ture potential... sad that Porsche never allowed the Boxster to show the 911 the rear lights..

There is more on the Top Gear website. The Boxster S does 0-62 in 5.0 the Cayman S at 4.9. The sad thing is that it is going to have less power than the cayman but it will get a differential. Porsche has decided not to give a diff in the cayman because it will be faster than the 911.

So is this the Boxster that will be based on the new Audi R4 platform?
