The LT1 engine is not a SOHC, it's an OHV. The only thing that these two types of engines have in common is that they both have 2- or 3-valve head designs, whereas DOHC engines typically have 4-valve head designs.

Why do I love this little car so much? It’s ugly, but strangely a bit cute with its puppy-dog stance. It helps, too, that it has a big Corvette engine hanging out of its ass end.

I should mention the prototype uses an LT4 650 hp V8. That’s reserved for the race version, however.
