I'll have to look for a review with a reported 1/4 mile time. Is there any other type of valid proof for it?
Just to keep pointing out the inconsistency here: https://fastestlaps.com/models/seat-leon-cupra-280-dsg. Look at the stats for the 280, which is the little brother. It's literally the same car but older, with 10 hp less power. The 290 also has some minor upgrades.
You can see that the actual acceleration stats make a lot of sense, but the 1/4 mile time is 0.5 seconds quicker. That's simply not possible.
Another way to look at it is to, at least, keep the same 1/4 mile time as the little brother. But this is a quicker car—probably by 0.1-0.2 seconds—which is exactly the time I referenced before.
