The Shelby Super Snake is PROOF that there is a difference between a turnkey car versus an actual tuner car.

The 1000(hp) version is the only Shelby Mustang that's actually modded, and that's even implicitly stated according to Shelby's own website. The 825hp model is the factory Shelby Mustang (along with the GT500SE which sadly makes a bit less power than the GT-based Super Snake), and neither one requires you to turn your Mustang in for modifications.

Even though the Exorcist (Camaro) and the 1000 are similar in output, the Exorcist rivals the Super Snake. Just like with Hennessey, Shelby makes both factory and tuner cars.

Hennessey: Those random HPE(number of hp) cars are the modified cars, but those with unique nicknames are the factory cars.

Shelby: Those Super Snakes and Signature Editions are the factory cars, while the 1000 is both modified and NOT street-legal.

The Super Snake technically rivals the Exorcist, but performance-wise it leans closer to the Dodge (Challenger) Redeye and Demon, both of which are modified versions of the Hellcat, except only those versions are made by the same manufacturer that makes the low-tune Hellcat version.
