BestMotoring got 13.1s in the 1/4 for the GTS, And that equates to a much faster 0-60mph time then 5.5s, In the range of 4.5-4.9s, But i dont use BM as a source for accel times because i dont trust there fishy superfast times that are MUCH faster then everyone else by a huge margin, Seems way off. But take it how you want.

i did not realise how really gutless these cars are just looked at 0-60 MPH stats these are only 7.2 seconds the australian VS holden commodore does that, what a truly pathetic car the MR2 is, all looks and mostly BULLSHIT

Im starting belive that mid-engine configuation is not that good.
Car is very difficult to handle and drift.

If i will find a good model on market some day - i will instant buy it. But this is so rare oldtimer mid engine car.
Toyota made good shit that time. New GT86 is shame compared to this monster.

I love the early 90s' Toyota MR2s, a far cry better than early 2000s versions.

plz be respectful, those of u that looks down on mr2s. u guys say mr2s run high14s to 15s but i bet u guys got it from google. some may have the jdm sw20 motors and if any of u think the VIN number on some mr2 is sw22 etc.. is it, think again, thats just typical standard numbers for usdm mr2s.

Steve - I have JDM rev4 Mr2 Turbo - it was dynoed at 268hp but with Exhaust, Decat, Induction, Intercooler small bits and stock boost, before service / mods was 228bhp (seems ok 12 hp lost after 70t mils) so stock is 240hp in my opinion. 0-60 in 5.5 seems ok due to grip (mid engine, lsd)

0-60 on this car is about 5.5. Same engine as the celica gt4 (239hp) which does 60 in 5.9

In a Jap MR2 REV3 Turbo, power is closer to 270bhp factory so 13.2 is easily achievable AND 0-60 was 5.6 out of the factory!!

The "new" mr2 in the vid is the 1992 225ps gen II, with the new suspension, brakes, lsd, not the 240hp, fix this fastest laps. And 1/4 mile times are 13.7 for a genII and 13.4 for a GenIII. And around 14.2 for a rev 1 jdm and 14.5/14.7 a rev1 usdm.

Yeah, no way it is 13.2!!! I have a mate who owns one, it's nowhere near low 13's territory. It's comparable to my S2K, making it a high 13 second car at best. The vids I've seen on BM confirm this, a good run yields around a 13.8, fastest run I ever saw was a 13.7!
