BYD shows the exterior of its new hypercar "X", which resembles an all-electric Ferrari 812.

Crickets on this. Waiting for someone else move to then one up them as a chess board game? U9 should get a faster run. Or are they waiting to get a better version?

The YangWang U9 Xtreme cost $233,000, and it is the fastest car on Earth (That has been officially verified)... how come the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta cost around $4.6 MILLION????

I heard Top Gear just made a interview of Marc Basseng, who just made the 496kph speed record with U9X. Marc reveal a bit more detail in it, like the car still have 250kw power reserve yet to be used at that speed, and the tire can witstand 500kph for 9 mins on the test machine.

Electric, chinese, or swedish. I'm just happy that someone goes out to put their money where their mouth is. It's a lot of costs, and a lot of risks, as any issues coming out would hurt the project in a big way... just look at the Tuatara.

Over 2 meters wide, 5 meters long? Where are you supposed to drive this S class sized car, other than an airport?

Late post. This car hit 308 mph for fastest production car in the world will this be under 300+ Supersport or does it need to be two way still? Regardless bravo shows EV is starting to go.

Cmon Koenigsegg show what u can do now.

I know there is no proof, but I gotta say I suspect the driver stop the acceleration on purpose, just to not break 500kph this time, (not for safety reasons, since the car looks stable, and the power and the straight seems ample), because they what to prolong this road EV 500kph challenge hype, maybe go public on the real release, along with a more competitive RING time.

I never thought i'd say this, but the current fastest production car in the world is made in China. Whether its impressive or not to achieve this with a potential 3000hp, you still have to go out and do it on road tires. It's an achievement that should be celebrated.

And for all those who say it's rubbish because it's nothing like the million dollar hypercars from sweden or Le Mans, well its price tag is also less than 1/10 of those cars too.

Koenigsegg better hurry up with the absolut, this cannot be the first 500kph car, it isnt iconic enough.

Was this done with 2 runs and no modifications to the road legal variant?

Since FL doesnt like the top speed being added on the winged version, and it is an optional extra, i have now made a page for the No-Wing variant
