Around 4 kg/hp is kind of the sweet spot for road cars. Just like 991 Carrera S,A110,Elise 240 or something else.Go much higher than that, and you just don’t get many chances to floor it and really enjoy the power.

depends.
For something like a 4C,which is the definition of sports car imo, 280-310.

I agree that it depends, especially upon the weight of the sports car. In my opinion the 4C is exceptionally light. For a more typical sports car weight of 3200-3300 lbs, I think 400-440 hp is just right.

Wow, based on how this poll is going my Corvette is overpowered, lol! That is groovy as far as I am concerned. I think that it has just the right amount of power to be exciting to drive. I really like its 60-100 mph capability, 5.5 seconds is not too shabby.

From a modern perspective, around 300 hp is the sweet spot for a car. It's usually fast enough to make a difference over your average Golf GTI while also being enjoyable to drive. Something like the base Porsche Boxster or Nissan 370Z comes to mind
