Only in the road car version The 2nd gen R8 GT3 is the most sucessful GT race car in the world
They only actually gave up on it after they joined F1 and threw both road car and race car program under the bus

Well a much cheaper and weaker C8 on inferior tires was basically as fast. Could be worse for the R8 but it's also not impressive.

One other point I forgot to add is that it’s just the base stingray as well. I think a C8 Z06 with Cup 2 R can get into the 1:11s
