Still an impressive time today.

faster than the Aventador...impressive
and about the C7, I doubt seeing enormous weight reduction.If you ask me, I think they're not gonna have a ZR-1...only a Z06 with more power
and the base will be pumping 470-ish
They're gonna have something for the Viper, but I don't know if they have something N/A with so much power! really hope they continue what they are doing with the current Z06...It's so close to the GTR that I bet they can make the next one beat it everywhere
tired of seeing the ZR1 being compared to the GTR

Apparently the base coupe is supposed to be around 2900 or so. I'll see it when I believe it.

No, I don't mean that, just that still uses said platform.. or that's how I undertand it... probably I'm wrong.

Yeah, I've thinking that it won't be much more powerfull but as its supossed to be lighter I'm expecting ~3100lbs for the base coupe and ~3000lbs for the Z06, about the ZR1 I've got no idea.. 3300? depending if it's supposed to be more of a cruiser than a track monster..

The OCD in me wants the lineup to go like this: XD

Coupe=Carrera
GS= Carrera S
Z06=GT3
ZR1=Turbo

@Mike B, I really hope you're not trying to say that the corvette's frame has been the same since the C4. It was completely revised for the C5 and the C6. The C7 will be no different. Same corvette formula but all new frame and chassis.

What do mean by same platform? It will still be front engine, rwd. And it will use 5.5 l v8 as base engine. Apparently it will only be slightly more powerful than C6, like 440 HP. That doesnt bode well, I know, but it will also be lighter. I wonder if theyll rename the engines...bring back LT?

I wonder how the C7 regeneration will pan out, the C6 was an enormous jump over the C5, with the base car being equally powerfull as the previous top model, I doubt (everyone) something like that will happen again; It's also the generation with the biggest power gap no?
202hp from top to bottom.

On another things, they've been using the same platform since 1983, the C7 will use it too right?

Watching this ZR1's Motorsport video you're definitely right. My Fault.

The 2012 ZR1 (with revised gear ratios) is really impressive.

I am 99% sure that was a 2011 car. Also the revised gearing for 2012 is only for the 5th and 6th gear (taller) for the "base" ZR1. The PDE package, includes the sport cup tires, has the same gearing that was in the previous years ZR1s.

My personal remark
This Ferrari MY2011 press car (the same of last EVO test in Bedford with MP4 comparison) gets almost equal gap from a ZR1 as in US TOP GEAR tests were there was a 458 customer car with different wheels and tires.

This was only the 2nd or 3rd time I have seen the ZR1 and 458 head to head.

Autobild tested in a comparo both cars (same plates for both DP599TV, and GG ZR100) in Mireval

That time was the 458 to prevail. Different track, different pilot, different result. The 2012 ZR1 (with revised gear ratios) is really impressive.

These guys. A very impressive time since it looks like this car did not have the new Sport Cup tires. From the other videos, these guys had a real hard time launching the car but they did a good job getting it around the roadcourse.
