So, let me get this straight? Motortrend performed this Figure of 8 but then what? Ran out of time to perform acceleration plus other tests? I mean just WTF are McLaren playing at? It makes ZERO sense? Shaking my head.

Just .6 sec quicker than SS1LE Camaro around the track. Stupid.

Everyone underestimates the little SS 1LE for some reason. That car is out here beating corvettes, and blowing literally everything in it's class out of the water. If the performance isn't insane enough, it literally has some of the best driving dynamics (save of course for Ferraris), and it has incredible steering and brake feel (just behind Mclarens and Lotuses), Yet it's still underrated af. Even now, 6 years later manufacturers are trying and failing to build cars better than the SS 1le as a complete package in it's class. In fact, it's not just the SS, it's Chevy and GM in general going unaprecciated despite literally making some of the best cars of the last 60 years
Examples include:
literally most corvettes
Camaro and firebird nameplates
SS badge (on most any chevy product)
Syclone
Hummer and it's reincarnation as the EV
Magneride system
5.7l revolution
ATS and CTS lineages,
V series
Escalade
and despite all of GM's accomplishments, everytime GM comes out with something, most normies are either like "wow I can't believe GM actually made something good" or "oh it's just a GM product so it's not good despite how it seems"
Anyway here ends my rant

"To give you some idea of how elite 22.2/22.3 seconds is, the 755-hp, 3,093-pound McLaren 765LT takes 22.3 seconds. So yes, both Lamborghinis are world-class handlers. Remember, straight-line acceleration grabs all the headlines, but the figure-eight test is what matters when you get out and actually drive."
Proves one thing ie. the phenomenal acceleration of the 765LT doesn't guarantee a really fast lap time. Wait till they get their hands on a STO and you'll see a sub 22 sec lap :)

It should be understood, that MT Figure-8 is not a race track in the usual sense. It's just two circles with a diameter of 200 ft exposed from the cones. It can be installed anywhere, so the level of grip isn't constant, and some deviations in the distance are also possible.
And even if MT conducts tests at the same time and in the same place, F-8 laptimes are still not very indicative for cars of such as 765LT and Huracan STO. Since the average speed on the "track" is usually about 40-45 mph, they simply don't have the opportunity to use their strengths in terms of power and downforce. I'll even assume that STO on the F-8 would be slower than Evo and Performante since it lacks AWD.
It will be much more interesting to see what STO can show on real GP tracks.
