From the start of the main straight to the braking point at the end it took both the Taycan TurboS and Panamera TurboS 19.9 sec which tells me that the Taycan had low battery power because it should have been at least a second faster than the Panamera. Once again this highlights that battery power levels in EV cars make a noticeable difference to acceleration.

It wasn't 100% full, but it looked to be around 75-80%, which is good enough if you ask me. If it made such a difference Porsche would have charged it up again. I think an outlap, in lap and flyer takes around 15% battery, so this was probably the 2nd flying lap.
why do you assume the Taycan is faster on the straight? The 760hp is only activated for launch mode. Normally the car only has 616hp. The straight has a decent hill climb as well at the beginning. With all that extra weight, I'm not sure the Taycan has much of an advantage. nonetheless, it hit over 160mph on the speedo before getting to the end of the straight (couldn't see the last digit) which is basically its top speed, while the Panamera hit 160mph on the GPS.
Edit: oh i see there's an onboard of the video with telemetry. it hit 156 on the straight.

That's expected, if you look to the acceleration numbers Panamera has faster 160-250 kph (100-155 mph) than even full charged Taycan, 4 mph top speed difference only confims that. Braking distance for Panamera should be shorter too, so no surprise they had equal time at the straight section. 2,3 seconds is serious advantage at this track and it gained most benefit at first curvy section of the track.
I was surprised because, judging by German magazines tests I had an impression that Porsche is trying to artificially make top model Taycan faster on tracks than top model Panamera. But now this result makes my initial thought wrong.

Yeah as i just said to Cocobe i had forgotten that it isn't as quick outside launch mode where it has 760hp. Interestingly the Taycan was slightly faster at Hockenheim but it did have Pirelli P Zero elect vs Michelin Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on the Panamera so not sure about the grip level difference. The Taycan was quicker from 0-200 km/h 9.7 vs 10.4 sec but it had overboost so to be expected.
