Will the car still be too heavy? Yes, just like the BMW M8 Competition, which did a 1:31.33. Of course the Challenger will never be a track toy, but a lot of potential is left on the table by the factory-fitted Pirelli All-Season-tires. Here in Switzerland some guy put Michelin Pilot Sport Cup R-tires on his Widebody Hellcat Redeye and trust me, it makes a huge difference.

biggest problem is the chassis. That old chassis can't handle twists, turns, and flex, as well it being very unsophisticated, to compare it with a BMW M8 is just stupid. The M8 may be heavy, but much of that extra weight is to deal with better structual rigidity, AWD, tough suspensions, brakes and drive train. The BMW uses PS 4S tires, not cup 2R.

If you think I compared the Challenger and the M8 you misunderstood me dearly. I only mentioned the M8 to show that weight isn't everything if it comes to lap times. I'm well aware of the Challengers limitations, I drove thousands of miles in various Challengers. All I'm saying is that the factory-fitted All Season-tires on it are crap and leave lots to be desired. The Challenger will never be a great handling car but better tires do make a big difference in grip and therefore lap time.
Also I never claimed that the M8 uses Cup R-tires, I don't know how you came to the conclusion that I said that - that being said my above mentioned lap time of the M8 was achieved with Pirelli P Zero and not Michelin PS4S.
