It could be they did more than just boost power by 8 PS. Maybe gearbox calibration, suspension adjustments etc. Maybe weight savings.
There is pretty big variance in lap times anyway. It could be that 292 PS version was tested in slightly disadvantageous weather conditions. Or the lap itself was sub-optimal. It is a long lap, I am sure Sport Auto don't have unlimited number of attempts to try to improve lap time.
Whoever was driving this facelifted version maybe felt more confident having already tested previous versions, and had more experience on how this car handles.
