probably, but even with michelin pilot sport 4s, its much faster then the old m3 comp and giulia qv.

I think its not the driver, I love Randy Pobst and he's a fine driver, it could be weather conditions or a sick car, I remember a time he had an M8 Competition on Willow Springs which was slower then the old M6 Gran Coupe (!) suggesting a sick car, and that shows how badly it can affect things.

Tyres make a huge difference at Chuckwalla methinks. The stock Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres are not grippy enough.

I agree, but there should be more then 0.7 seconds gap between this and the old M3

The old M3 is lighter, and combined with better tyres that seems to make a difference at Chuckwalla.

True , but it was actually on Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres which were released in 2011 and are the older version of Pilot Sport 4S which released in 2017
