This is insane.
Faster than the more track-focused Porsches with wider tires, more aggressive aerodynamics, etc. And this was the cabriolet! Admittedly, that Z06 time is even more 🔥but still.

One lap pace on a power hungry track doesn't say much tbh. The 296 GT3 got dominated by the 911 GT3 R at Le Mans for the second year in a row despite being the fastest GT3 on straights and qualifying higher.
Z06 and 296 would end up losing over a distance

Sure, but considering the tight layout of the Magny Cours Club, either way a 296 GTS beating those Porsches is just I-N-S-A-N-E.
