BMW M2 M Performance Track Kit lap time at Nürburgring Nordschleife

i think whats letting it down is the power compared to those other bmws. this would be a fair bit quicker then the m2 cs if it had the 530 hp, and the performance kit is making a lot of ground in the tighter sections and corners methinks

Yes, although the Nring is mainly a Downforce track i think that with these """"""lower"""""" powered cars power still matters a big chunk in the laptime. I'm curious about what's the difference in travel time of the straight.

it s a downforce track like many others, but u cant ignore the many high speed sections and uphill sections as well.

There are multiple sections on the track where power matters just as much as aero does elsewhere and even together. Nordschleife also favours very forgiving suspension characteristics due to the large presence of bumps (and even a literal jump in the road).

This is why the GTD was able to keep up with the GT3 RS. Take out the power factor (like the result of a certain Sonoma test) and the difference between the cars becomes rather significant.
