I'm a bit surprised that this run is only 10 seconds faster than the previous one given the massive tire advantage on paper on top of the braking advantage.

The R compound tires as well as the carbon brakes allow the car to use more of its power. The previous 7:35 lap, hit just 230kph upon going under the Audi Gantry sign. This lap, the car is going at 260kph which is about the same as the GT2RS. Which means they've solved a lot of their cooling issues.
