I don't think they mentioned what tires it was on. If it were on cup 2R's, I would have expected it to be considerably faster than the ACR.

It defaulted to 2R, also if you go look at the ACR laptime its for a 400m shorter course then then main course, without turn 10.

obviously I was comparing with the MK V Viper ACR. The cup 2R is considerably faster than the ACR's tires, and given how most of the track is long sweeping corners, I would have expected a much bigger difference. Though, the Viper's time was done by factory, and this may be just a private test.

Another thing is, the gt3rs with bridgestone tires on a slightly damp Topgear track was still faster than the Viper ACR, so that's why I expected more.

All the other lap times here are of the shorter course.

Top Gear laptimes shouldn’t be taken too seriously with them not stating weather conditions, eg air temperature track temperature and so on.

I’m fairly certain the ACR destroys a fairly soft setup R8 V10 on most tracks, yet on the TG Track it’s only 6 tenths ahead (even if that’s mostly thanks to standing starts). Anyway I’m sure if Porsche did their own lap here, there’s probably 3-4 seconds to play with

That R8 time was quite out of the ordinary, definitely on trofeo R tires. The standing start would have given the R8 a full second ahead start into the first corner, and the AWD would have helped it at hammerhead.

I still wouldn’t take top gear times all that serious if I were you, I mean the R8 shouldn’t even be faster the the LP 610-4

Dunsfold is a bumpy mess, and on a track like this, raw grip means nothing if you can't keep the tires on the ground. The 992 GT3 RS is a track monster, but its bone-shaking stiffness might actually backfire here, leaving those Cup 2 Rs unable to find their footing. This explains why the MP4-12C left the 458 in the dust back in the day—it just soaked up the bumps better. It’s also why the A110 S, despite the Cup 2s and track-focused setup, was barely 0.6s faster than the base car. On a rough surface, suppleness beats stiffness every time.

Sorry I didn’t see your post. I think with the A110S they also mentioned something about it being done in sweltering hot weather, so it couldn’t get its full potential.

In a way the track is like EuroSpeedway Lausitz in terms of its setup but for me it’s easier to take those times much more seriously
