Porsche 911 992 GT3 Cup lap record : 2:07.586, Riley Dickinson, No. 53 Kellymoss, set in 2023. So, the ZR1 is only a full second slower than the absolute best qualifying lap time set by a GT3 Cup car. I know there's a ton of straights on this track but still, that's really not bad. That's an actually insane lap time. What strikes me most is how tame the car seems to behave. Incredible for a 1'000+ hp RWD-car. Speed builds so effortless, especially compared to the Z06. This might actually be a (low) 7:3x Min. lap time contender on the Ring.

only 10 seconds off an LMP2 car. stupid quick

yes, but still 4s off of a GT3 race car despite the huge long straights that favor the immense power. https://www.gt-world-challenge-america.com/results/2024/road-america/qualifying-1
However, a AMG One, is indeed faster than a GT3 car on multiple tracks.
So how the ZR1 destroy the GT3RS by 5 seconds, an AMG One, could also possibly destroy the ZR1, by 5 seconds too.

The straights are important on Road America but RA also has lots of fast and long corners which obviously favor the much lighter, more grippy and downforce-heavy GT3-cars by a huge margin.

the higher the top speeds, the more ground that high hp cars are going to gain ground. The difference between the AMG One which has "similar" power and weight, is that the AMG puts down the power much more easily, and has both higher downforce, and lower drag. Of course, the price gap is wider the great Canyon.

While that is obviously true it also largely depends on the rest of the circuit. Tracks with many long and fast corners favor downforce so cars that don't have that much power can still be very fast. This can easily be seen on the Nordschleife with the 992 GT3 RS - a car that outperforms many cars with vastly superior hp-ratings despite the Nordschleife being a very fast track.
Road America's front and back straight are all about power, however, the rest of the circuit is mainly about cornering speeds. This can easily be seen if we look at the 991 GT2 RS vs. 992 GT3 RS - despite lacking 175 hp and the broader torque-curve the 992 GT3 RS still beats the 991 GT2 RS on this track. So yes, power matters, but it's far from being the end-it-all-measure.
I do agree though that the AMG One should excel due to better aerodynamic efficiency. It's also a carbon-tub-hypercar with multiple advantages over a more conventional souped-up sports car like the Vette.
