Faster than the Porsche 992 GT3 lap by SportAuto. The manufacturer time is 6:55

Yes and once again it's the driver that can make the biggest difference to the laptime. Porsche factory racing drivers like Jörg Bergmeister who drove the Porsche 718 GT4 RS in this lap will always be much faster than Gebhardt from SportAuto.

It also had Cup 2 R tires... easily 5 seconds off.

I'd actually guess that Cup 2R are probably at least (!) 10 seconds faster on the Ring than normal Cup 2. I think already on a 1:30 Min. track they made a difference of three seconds on a GT3 RS in a test.

theoretically then the 992 gt3 with cup 2's is a 7:05 manufacture, which is still 8 seconds quicker then the 991.2 gt3. pretty impressive
