i ran a 14.6 sec 1/4 mile and 162km exit speed at Tarlton with a stock astra h opc, with software and exhaust i ran 14.04 sec and exit speed of 167km
Gambit 17y ago
The 1:33 Topgear time was the old time the 1:32 is the correct time got from the Topgear hot hatch heaven magazine please have the older time removed. I provided the link for the 1:32 time so its correct
Speed 17y ago
Lmao thats why this site says 1/4 mile time 14.5. On my first attempt at Tarlton I ran a 14.8 and slowly improved to a 14.6 once i got the launch right and thats with 19inch wheels
Speed 17y ago
Lets clear a few things firslty VxownerR I stated the internal components of the engine is stock ie head, pistons, rods, cams, crank of the OPC/VXr i was referring to all mods are bolt on, the turbo is not an internal component of the engine and no its not a standard turbo that made 360hp. Secondly Wads there are plenty of dreamscience tuned St's here in Joburg. Standard St's run around 15.3 to 15.5 sec 1/4mile and the ones with DS or BF run mid to high 14s. Stock Opc run 14.5 to 14.8 my best time was 14.6 when i was stock I have the plus pack with 19inch wheels.
Wads 17y ago
Hi Wads :) No Joke im well aware of the power increases with DS and BF and has i stated I have beaten both with my stock Opc
Speed..... of course anything is possible but unless the remapped STs weren't really trying I can't beleive a stock OPC would be faster (maybe you are talking about a drag race to 5mph?) the stock ST is very similar in performance between 30-70mph to the stock OPC but the remapped ST is nearly 2 seconds quicker than stock..... as you may have guessed I have a Dreamscience ST and so far haven't come across many cars on the road that have its roll on performance within the speed limit.....
VXowneR 17y ago
Speed, the astras stock turbo is not good for 360bhp, you should know this if you are a true owner/enthusiast.
VXowneR 17y ago
I myself have come up against many sts, beat a few, come level with many and lost to one.
Things are closer than you think between these two guys.
Speed 17y ago
Yes all mods where bolt on, the internal components of the engine was not modified. I really dont want to hear about your illegal road races no one will ever believe a Stock st is faster than a Stock OPc. Different countrys have different specs in my country the St is 1317kg and my OPC is 1393kg this is offiical i have proof if you dont believe me
syntar 17y ago
speed, your saying a astra opc with no mods on the engine made 360bhp?! lala land bekons for you my friend!
oh, and i own a focus st, completely standard, and over the weekend, was at the lights with an opc, revving as usual opc owners do, lights change, he wheelspins into oblivion, i change smoothly through the gears to 3rd, he begins to catch up, but as soon as i got into 3rd an planted my foot-he disappeard! lol, me and my other half were taking the p*ss out of it all the way down the road when he finally caught up! power is nothing without control
Speed 17y ago
Hi Wads :) No Joke im well aware of the power increases with DS and BF and has i stated I have beaten both with my stock Opc. The unoffical but faster Opc in the world http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wp28P_P1p4Q has no internal mods the engine itself is standard "focussed" it makes 268kw or 360hp on the wheels and guess what it didnt go bang !
Wads 17y ago
You little $hit i beat dreamscience and bluefin mapped st when my Opc was stock so please save you BS for kids
I assume that was some sort of joke or do you just not know the figures from the Dreamscience and Bluefin remaps? 270bhp DS or BF is slightly more than a 237bhp stock OPC or am I missing something?
Anonymous 17y ago
The st matched a car with nearly 20 more bhp and less weight, that, clearly, shows that the st's chassis is superior, or else how would it match the astras time with such a large power and weight disadvantage?
Speed 17y ago
No hard feelings anonymous im sorry for the bad language, but this site is exactly for people like you just go and compare laptimes for yourself and straight line performance on wif, enough said on that matter the results speaks for themself. I put this to you just like all other St Fans who have bad mouthed the VXR-Joke "basic rear suspension, torque steering mess of a car, an embarrasment to Vauxhall/opel" is so terrible what does it tell you about the handling of the ST that cant beat it on so many tracks and can only just match the nurburing time of a car that cant handle and torque steers so bad according to you ????
focussed 17y ago
georg, i have asked a few vxr owners and regal(who use eds remaps) and they have seen a maximum bhp not ps figure of 275 from there remaps, not 285bhp, the eds system has the "potential" to get up to 280bhp, but this has not happened on the rolling road as of yet.it may have held a good time at the ring for a bit, but its still terrible to drive and unreliable from what ive read on the vxr forums, do stage 3 on the astra and its bang goes your engine!
Georg 17y ago
@anonymous
Speed is right just a remap done by EDS gives you 285PS/430Nm ... it is offered by EDS for 499Euro as their phase I for the Z20LEH engine build into the Astra and Zafira OPC. They even offer a special Northloop phase1 for the Astra OPC...
the Astra OPC is such a joke that it was for several years the fastest FWD around the northloop... and that for the full lap...
I am not a Opel fan but respect what they have done..
