I owned both. The M5 from 1998-2004. the SLK from 2009 til now.The M5 engine delivers the same performance with 300 kg plus what is remarkable!
And the SLK engine is bulletproofed, what i cannot say from the M5 engine.
emotional i prefer the M5 the reliability speeks for the SLK.
The M5 is more fun to drive!

We have an slk 55 amg and we drove it 310 and it is standard so john go eat shit:)
