Renault Megane RS vs VW Scirocco R

jj has a problem.The track results-largely the reason for this website- has the Renault winning 10-5 in races,without even mentioning what a RS 265 would do( while STILL cheaper than the VW) Too many words for jj I fear....

Both look to be quite fun to drive on a tight course or autocross. I haven't driven any front driver with this kind of power, but if the suspensions are set up right (as they definitely appear to be judging from the lap times), these are both probably a lot of fun.

I'd rather have the scirocco, mostly because it looks stunning.

The track times are here to settle the arguments. this one is settled. The RS III is quicker. Factor in the value for money AND the aesthetics and the victory is even more decisive.

how do they figure that out then? the scirocco is quicker on 3 tracks, the meg is better on 5 ( two of them wet) but that is not a difference of 3 to 5
no matter how much quicker the meg is on those 5 tracks.

Megane is dead ugly, and if using comfort mode option (DCC) it is slower than megane, if not, it\'s faster.

pretty clearly beat the Megan in Sweden by 1.2s tested by a neutral nation

ok than...the cup for the megan without 19\' rims starts from 25-26 k and soon is gonna be a version with 275 hp and with Edc ( same as Dsg) and we will see then the scirocco r and the golf r...they are not worth it in front of megane

btw the Scirocco R starts at 33.9 not at 35k... 35k is the version with DSG which is not avaible for the Megane

hi georg..phil is right i think..i read a review of the magazine 3 2 1 and they say ( the magazine is french so i dont understand a word, but in Vw scirocco forum UK it was translated) that the scirocco is the best and win for the brutal engine and confort...but they also say the megane is more good for the track because scirocco brakes after laps in the track begin fading and the megane not! for the laptimes i would say that the megane confirm her self the king of Fwd after beating and in Magny cours by 0,6 the rocco..and how about fifth gear they sux hard and they way to measure the laptimes is not exact , but still megane is the best...because megane start from 29,000 Euro and the Rocco R from 35,000 Euro and still the megg R.S is faster

Cmon now, we allllll nkow when people have a car that represents there country, or continent, they tend to push them harder then the other cars that arent from there, its no secret, hell even i push my Viper harer than my R33 on GT4, Uconsiouly, but i can tell. not saying they wont push the other car, just its not likely theyll poush it AS hard.
