1961 ford galixie starliner did 0-60 in 5.8 seconds and quarter mile in 13.33 at 105.5mph. Way ahead of any Chevy.

According to the Standard Guide to American Muscle Cars this beast did 0-60 mph in 7.5 seconds, and 15.3 seconds for the 1/4 mile. Excellent performance for 1964! 425 hp is the gross rating, but it probably would rate 325 hp in modern SAE net test conditions.

This one doesn't surprise me, I knew the '64 Impala was available with the 425 horsepower 409, I found that out when I was looking up the 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS 409. Amazing car.

The list of old Super Sedan is almost complete. Chevy also join the Super Sedan battle between Ford, Dodge, Mercury, AMC and Facel-Vega. This car is a monster in Tuxedo cuz you can't make any different between this one and the luxury version unless you start the engine. This car available with 2 transmission. The Muncie M20 wide ratio with 3.08 final and Muncie M21/M22 close ratio with 4.11 and 4.56 final. It also has same suspension like 2 door SS version. It's enough to hit 146 mph with wide ratio and hit 0-60 mph close to 5 sec with close ratio. However, it has heavier body than the 2 door SS so it's slower than 2 door SS in acceleration. But, even you can't run into 150 mph, but this car proven faster than Galaxie on drag strip due to lighter body.
