This car is impressive and all, but I can't help but notice the convertible plymouth superbird in the background, I had no idea such a thing existed.

@ Bijan: My father Chevelle SS is also impressive especially after put modern part like modern suspension, 4 disc brakes and refreshed LS6 engine which has 450 Hp net. But he prefer to drive his 190E EVO II cuz his Chevelle has bad history.... Very bad.

@ Bijan: My Galaxie is 500 XL series and somewhat like this: http://www.fastestlaps.com/models/ford-galaxie-500-xl-cobra
I ever run about 150 mph with this in straight line. Did you know? I bought this not in USA. I bought it in Indonesia. A country in south east Asia. I bought it very cheap only about 10.000 yen. My father said Chevy, Chrysler and Ford is ever build a factory in there and built right hand model but only for full size model not muscle car. Now i put 427 FE in this car and already finish painted in blue about a month ago.

@ Super8 : No , I have not in this time , but many years ago I owned a 1972 GTO 400 with 3 speed manual and also owned several rare italian sports cars and 2 rare Ponies , one A 1970 Trans Am RA III with 4 speed and 3.55 in blue , I was 17 when buying this , and some years later buying a 1973 SD 455 Trans Am , that was faster than my De tomaso Pantera GTS in Europian version of course .
Congratulations to you and your father , your father's car in my opinion is one of the best ever Muscle cars in any time , any where , and also your car is Fantastic , too .A 7 liter Galaxy , magnificent .

@ Bijan: I'm not read it but I find it. The advantage having father who works as engineering in GM is something like this especially when he had more friend who works in other manufacture such as Ford and Chrysler group. Anyway, did you have an old muscle car? I had 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 XL Cobra and my father had 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS LS6 with 3.31 final which rare to see.

@ Super8 : Good luck , I don't read anything about a Rare Galaxy with 5 speed .
Such a days , I don't like the today's cars , I miss the 60' and 70' .

@ Bijan: I'm still searching the data of the rare Ford Galaxie and possibly the only muscle car that fitted with 5 speed manual transmission. It rumored to be 500 XL Lightweight model.

@ Super8 : Your information about Rare Muscle cars is brilliant .
Thanks to your Father's friend too.

@ Bijan: The only car who can kill these 2 is the 2 wing wonder. The supercharged version even more brutal than this. The assembly location is unknown but the VIN codes is already known thanks to my father friend :D

Bijan  13y ago

@ Super8 : I agree with you , very impressive , especially in 1969 . really fast cars .

User avatar

Super8  13y ago

@ Bijan: This car alongside with Talladega is one of the successful Ford aerodynamic design. With less power, it can chase 426 Hemi Charger 500 R/T which mean very impressive.

User avatar

Bijan  13y ago

@ Super8 : First , thanks and then yea its right , The 170 mph 4 speed 3.23 rear end is quite right , but as Ford said with 3.23 final ratio .
And I agree with you about some better Aerodynamic than standard form .
O.K I will check the Super charged Wing Wonders .

@ Bijan: You might be also like this car
1969 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T Supercharged
1970 Plymouth Superbird Supercharged
Sorry I can't add a link right now since I'm not online using PC. It should be available on Dodge and Plymouth section in this sites.

@ Bijan: That's because the power is gross. But actually it has bigger net power than standard 429 Boss because both Talladega and Cyclone Spoiler II had 6 barrell carburetor configuration and high performance intake. It must be comparable to 440 Six Pack from Dodge. For max speed I think it still can reach reach 168 mph because it has better aerodynamic than standard Cyclone and proven reduce a lot of Cd from standard Cyclone. Ford version run about 170 mph since it has 3.25 final 4 speed but very slow acceleration.

Bijan  13y ago

@ A.Z : Why ?

User avatar

Bijan  13y ago

@ Super8 : all right ,with this version of original Boss 429' first of all , why Horsepower is same ? and then ,the top speed of this Mighty Mercury must be around 156-7 mph with 3.5 rear end not 168 mph .
any way thanks for info .

A.Z  13y ago

bijan where are you from?

User avatar

Super8  13y ago

@ Bijan: This one is different than usual Boss 429 engine. It has 7000 rpm. It's only available for Talladega and Cyclone Spoiler II and it's factory tune up for racing driver satisfied who wanted to buy this car.

User avatar

Bijan  13y ago

@ Super8 what is the true max rpm of this engine ? 7500 rpm ? I don't think so .

User avatar

Super8  13y ago

Only 3 that ever produce with each color: Standard, Dan Gurney Special and Cale Yarborough special. Total 6 car that ever produce alongside with Talladega model.

429 Boss version of Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II. Same deal like 429 Boss Talladega but with 3.5 ratio 4 speed, it able to accelerate faster than Talladega model but slower top speed.
