I think that R compound tires might drop the lap time by two and a half seconds. Usually R compound tires improve lap times by about two seconds per minute of a typical race track.

That sounds pretty good to me, because at the time most track cars would be equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires which would helps reduce time by a hell of a lot of seconds
