I think this was a proper use of the SHO engine, it produced a very quick mid engine rear drive Supercar out of Ford parts. I don't know how many of these Shoguns were made, but I remember some of the magazine reviews. If I remember correctly, the SHO engine was made with help from Yamaha. Using the Festiva platform kept the weight way down.

they're ford festiva lx's with the taurus SHO mechanicals. its a newer faster renault 5 turbo cavennes on steroids, id like to see a comp review with this the renault 5 and the clio trophy - all 3 are 2 seat compacts with the engine in place of a backseat.
0-60 in5 seconds flat and 13.62@104mph, 145mph top speed....2190lb's (curb) and 0.97 lateral G.
57/43 front / 53.2 in height / 144in long / 73.5in wide / 91in wheelbase / 5.75in ground clearance / track (F/R) 56in and 62in.
stats straight from the cars manual.
an old magazine shows its 0-60 in 4.6 and 12.9 quarter mile

Production? Not! Lets just add tuner cars too for cost effective comparisons. I can tell you that a BMW 335i is a better deal than a new EVO.

Its not a tuner, only seven were made. a yellow one was on the cover of R&T mag in 1990, Jay Leno's even gota silver one..lol
