Why comepare an 335i against a RS4, all bmw M3's have been beter then any other car of its age... ( not cars like ferraris or porsche's of course ) its all about a drivers car at bmw & merc... with the VAG group you'll be fast in a straight line and thats it, no driving fun, no rwd, no emotion. and unless you've drivin a drivers car, you'll never know what it means to drive one.

Well,i'd have to agree and sure is heavy(as most modern cars are),but not necessarily heavier because you have to take into an account that RS4 weight has been measured in times when EU didn't use certain forms that bind manufacturers to declare tech vehicle specs through.
EG-Richtlinie 92/21/EWG (ger.) is how they measure among other things-vehicle weight in EU today.Road ready,of course+90 procent of the fuel tank filling,68kg driver and 7 kg of luggage.
But Audi doesn't even today add that 75 kg to its car's specs,of course to make their cars appear lighter than they truly are,EU rightlines allow manufacturer to declare vehicle's weight by that course as long as they footnote such data alteration. One other thing,BMW has got a mid-front engine, unlike Audi which has got it's engine far on the front which does improve stability and safety, but impairs handling and corner sharpness(vast oversteer)...
Also nowadays we've got a DCT transmission in BMW's arsenal,so once again:Remap,DCT, and M package, try to believe me that BMW wouldn't be that much handicapped...
