Delta HF Integrale 16v competition

Standing 1000 lm can't be that slow. Even '72 model A112 Abarth did that in 19+ seconds and it had over 15 kg/kW. Also 0-200kph sounds utterly slow. Somewhere between 25 and 30 might be beliveable.

yeah 0-200 in 40 sec is bulls**t.
Sport Auto has never been a competent magazine, their results are always totally off, sorry Georg.
It's the same story with all other tests made by Sport Auto.. they dont seem to have competent drivers.
Their Clio 197 and Peugeot 206 RC 0-100 times were somewhere between the 7,4 - 7,8 s range while MANY people, including friends I know irl have gotten these cars into the 6,x seconds range without any modifications.
The 'Ring laptimes are also always much slower in Sport Auto compared to other independent testers like professional racing drivers.
I would never trust that magazine.

As you can see Delta HF needs 17 sec to speed up from 180kp/h to 200km/h due to the high air resistance, factory speedometer is not very accurate and up to 200 km/h could inflate at least 15km/h thats why according to speedo Delta takes 200km/h faster than 40 s, try to reach 210-215 km/h on speedo and you will see natural result.

I have a standard 16v myself. A few years ago I tried 0-200, fully loaded for my holiday to Modena. I shifted early and reached 200 in 32 seconds. When I would have shifted later, it might have been less than 30 seconds. Conclusion: the Delta HF Integrale 16v really is faster than mentioned on this website!

This isnt true, I have watched 5 youtube videos all of witch get to a 100mph in around 14seconds standard, higher the boost and its 12. My dad has an evo 1 210bhp and when i saw this i was very shocked as they are no way this slow

@Georg, I understand what you mean but i think the conditions in wich they tested the Integrale must have been terrible, or they made a mistake. From 160 - 200 in 23.9 sec is way to slow for a car like this. Check out other cars with 200 hp and you see that the average time from 0-200 is around 33 sec. The Integrale can do that a lot faster because of its gearing. The test I have from Autovisie was a Evolution 16 of 1992. They compared it with a Ford Escord Cosworth and the Escort did 0-200 in 28,6 sec. If you like a can mail or fax you a copy of the test. The Integrale was not tuned and did 0-200 in 22 sec. The Integrale was a real champion in Rally but also on the normal roads. An Englisch magazine compared it once whit a Ferrari Testarossa and the Integrale was sometimes faster. Check youtube for a Intergrale from 0-200 or the Integrale websides.

@Ferry
220km/h is not a low topspeed for a ~200hp car with that shitty aerodynmaic. Means the gearing is set for topseed not for acceleration.
just to see the effect of the aerodynamic in combination with low power (by modern standarts)
sportauto tested the car with
4.6s 0-80km/h
6.2s 0-100km/h
9.2s 0-120km/h
12.6s 0-140km/h
17.3s 0-160km/h
24.3s 0-180km/h
41.2s 0-200km/h
north of 160km/h the car simple lack the steam to acclerate faster
the 1992 220hp Ford Escort Cosworth with sligthly more power and much better aerodynamic needed
0-180km/h 21.3s
0-200km/h 32.8s
and reached thanks to the better shape a slightly higher topspeed with 234km/h
the 1992 208hp Toyota Celica Turbo 4WD Carlos Sainz Edition
reached
0-180km/h in 26.0s
0-200km/h in 40.4s
again thanks to better aerodynmic it reached a slightly higher topseed of 230km/h
the 1993 Celica GT4 with 240hp still needed 30.2s 0-200km/h
no way this Integrale can get to 200km/h in 22s only if tuned ~ 300hp
22s 0-200km/h is WRX STI, Evo IX, TT-S, NSX range of cars...

Remember that de Integrale is a Rally car. It dont need a high speed so they put the gearbox into acceleration. Why do you think it is so fast to 100 and has a low topspeed ? I think that from 100 till 200 in 16,3 sec is possible for this car. The press measured it so its a reliable time.

@Mafalda
If it does 0-190 kph in 27 s there is NO way 22 s 0-200 is possible! 190-200 needs min 8-10 s (rather 10 s with these aerodynamics) with 152 bhp/tonne. 0-200 in less than 37 s is NOT possible for this car.

Mafalda 16y ago
5.7 was the mnfr\'s claim, I\'ve ever seen 6.1s
22s is not possible: QR tested 1 KM 27.0 @ 190 Kph

Great car even today but faster around Anglesey than a wrx sti by several seconds? fifth gear most have a dodgy stopwatch
