I drive a c32 amg which is no slouch and I was impressed by its pace, that wasn't off the line though

Looks okay but don't let that fool you this car is a real beast in day to day driving having driven the t sport 190 have to admit I wasn't expecting much because of the so called reviews (which are untrue) but once on the B roads it is a different animal especially on cam stronger pull so I can only emagine this thing would be blistering for what it is .All you who say it's slow etheir haven't driven it or drove it properly.

Yeah, I've owned one of these cars, along with far too many others! In response to the daft comments above, it is far from slow, in fact it's completely & utterly ridiculous in 1st & 2nd - does slow down a bit when it gets to 120+ though whereas it's lesser powered sister car the Celica T-Sport/GT (which I have also owned) seems to keep on going. Handling is standard front wheel drive hot hatchback albeit unfortunately there is still far too much body roll (although much better than every other mk 9/10 Corolla) which does in turn mean that whilst still very capable, it does inspire less confidence in the bends then say a Focus ST or a Golf GTI.

I can omit from saying however, that it does eat super unleaded like no ones business. I have a 330bhp Leon Cupra and a supercharged 550bhp RS4 saloon & both return a better mpg in day to day driving situations.

This car is NOT slow. I can get it to go 0-60 in a flat 6 seconds. In fact i actually own the one thats in the picture! It doesnt turn the head, why would it, its 'only' a corolla. In fact your chances of getting hold of one are very slim as there are now less than 200 on these shores. Good luck.

Genuinely interesting this one, & depends entirely on who you believe really. Toyota officially quote 0-60 time as 6.9 however every single independent reviewer has marked it as between 6.2 - 6.5. Toyota are also renowned for being hugely conservative with their 0-60 times in order to get their vehicles into the insurance group they would like them to be in. Take the original Corolla TS. Toyota said it took 8.4 seconds to get to 60 yet every single independent reviewer marked it between 6.9 - 7.3 including the ever vigilant Top Gear (UK) who even managed 7.3 in the wet! In fact manufactures 0-60 figures are hardly ever in line with any of the independent reviewers, some are over conservative and some are over optimistic. How do they get away with this Tom Foolery that is surely geared up towards not only fooling the insurance group underwriters, but also the manufacturers customers? It's the legal wording they apply when quoting 0-60 times: 'Manufacturers Estimate' estimate being the key word. One can't be penalised for miscalculated 'estimates'. How do you think the building trade has survived as long as it has! :)

have corrected it, the topspeed was in real higher and the acceleration little bit slower corrected to.. and the torque was higher as claimed. The car was developt by Toyota F1 Team in Germany but it still is a Japanese car.. corrected too.
A swiss test result, a Audi A3 is with less hp but more torque exactly as fast, but offer futures like DSG larger wheels with wider tires, lower consuption, better emission rating, more displacement and is 1300Euro cheaper as the Toyota.. this car was 29,700Euro($46,000) in 2005.. compared to that a VW R32 is a cheap offer..

The mass figure quoted is actually the fully laden weight, and therefore incorrect. Toyota spec states 1315kg kerb weight, hence a power to weight ratio of 163.5 hp/tonne.
