DB9 competition

The Aston Martin has a very conservative design for an "exotic" car. It's more of a British version of the Pontiac GTO LS2 than a Bentley or Ferrari.
loshmi 14y ago
The real question is "This or GranTurismo S?"
.fastestlaps.com/comparisons/aston_martin_db9-vs-maserati_granturismo_s.html
venom 17y ago
well if you can actually afford an exotic car you get tons of ooomph for your money. and as anonymous and other good mechanics know 525 bhp can be found easily with small tweaks to variable valve timing. not to mention theres way more to it than power. an 8,000 bhp top fuel dragster will cost about as much to build as this thing but apparently people lie building more of these. this is the same relationship it has to the m6 except much less drastic.
Anonymous 17y ago
What are you stupid?? these cars sold Incredibly well. and there plenty of Ommphh for the money, what cars more beautiful for less? Dumbass!!!
Anonymous 17y ago
Terrible output numbers for a V12. Thats why they sold so badly, no ooomhp for the money.
Anonymous 17y ago
alfred your a retard if you think this car sucks. who cares if this car has a 6.ol v12 with 450, 450bhp is plenty, and what do you expect a car to weigh with an interior like that and being a gt cat?? and there are plenty of other cars around with bigger liters and lower power. and you also forget the 911 has too big turbos and the m6 is the most potent model of the 5 series range this is the base model, you want more power get a 510bhp dbs or a 700bhp one-77 (unlikely) shit...
Anonymous 17y ago
Alfred, the DB9 is not ment to be a road going supercar like the 911 turbo. The DB9 is ment to be a grand tourer, which it does quite nicely. Also, anyone who is a good mechanic knows a twelve of that size could push more then 525HP easily just by tweaking the valve timings.
Alfred ronalld 18y ago
this car sucks it looks good and it has nice interior.but wheres all the power.i mean cmon its a 6.0litrev12 and its not very powerfull the bmw m6 has a v10 and its more powerfull than that hell the porsche 911 997 turbos engine is half the size of the aston martin db9s 6.0litrev12engine with 450bhp and the porsche 911 997 turbo is a 3.6litre twin turbo flat 6 and it has 473BHP.and the aston martin db9 is way to heavy!!! it weighs a ridiculos 3762
lbs that is not very good compared to other cars its ccompeting with or how they think they can compete with.

ok fastest laps.
I not to create new threads of forum; might you create them?
Sorry for collapsing the pages of the cars.
sorry, me level of english is very poor.
FastestLaps 18y ago
javi, thank's a lot for the links. You should probably post those in forum threads not in car comments. That way it would be easier to refer to them and comments pages would not be filled with such massive amounts of information.

DB9 is one of most beautiful cars ever made. I agree with that. But I am not sure if it's THE most beautiful. Because there are sooo many superb looking cars. It is impossible to chose one as the best. You have to be in love with a car to say "this is the most beautiful car in the world!" But I am not in love with Aston Martin DB9 I am afraid :D
