...Woo would take an M3 over a Virage?...

I love Astons, they USED to be my favorite company, untll they statred making ALL there cars look exactly alike, Shite, its been 12 years already, everyone else is pulling away, they need to get there shit together already, There only saving grace is the beauty of there cars, but thats usually the number 1 seller in cars, good looks.

Aston Martin will have to do some revolutions quite soon to be alive.

Still you can find the lovers of the modern Aston. Their beauty (though it's the same)(some maybe like exactly such configuration) and their sensational name keep them still in business, whether there are lots of people without enough attention to their ego. But I guess even they some time later they won't buy Astons, they would buy maybe even used Astons from 2000-ties , if Aston is not going to make something new in technical or in appearance, which would be worth that money.

The same problem was Jaguar some years ago, but since they've presented the third XK and XF/XJ, their sales have grown a lot and just more people are paying more attention to this brand. I'd be glad to own Jag. They have almost the same performance and technical abilities as Astons have, but paying quite less money. And even their souls don't much differ...

Why Aston ?!  13y ago

In fact you can buy a faster good looking 2012 M6 for half the price.. It is better in almost every aspect.. Maybe you wouldn't be the typical english lord like in the Aston, but who cares?

Why Aston ?!  13y ago

When will they make something faster than an M3 ?! Aston Martin is a supercar brand, it should compete in the same class as a Ferrari,Lamborghini,Pagani, and Porsche most expensive models. Still all of they cars are relatively slow, compared to the rivals.. How could they offer 1/4 mil. euro car that does 0-200 in 15-16sec? That is slower than an SL63... If they do something , they must do it well. The design is the same as you said, unchanged for the past ten years. I mean that as the other brands develop their products, Aston offer the same interior, almost the same look from the outside and the same performance for more and more money. Of course the sales wouldn't be as expceted ! They expect some fools to buy their car only for the prestigiuos name brand. It worked years back ! In fact it worked when they established the design line which they are following now. But that isn't the case anymore. I would rather choose an F458,997 turbo, even a california instead of that..

I guess in 2013 there will be the same Virage, but with a DB9 name ;)

BTW, love the style of the Virage :)

Aston Martin, PLEASE, Do something/Make something DIFFERENT!

User avatar

Inline 6 rules  13y ago

Because the sales are lower than the expectations and Aston Martin said that they need free production line to product a new, stronger version of the DB9.

Thankfully, there are 4 or 5 other models that look exactly the same. :D

the changes are very subtle but it still amazes me that aston martin can continually manage to make there cars look progressively better.
