Z8 competition

There is no this lap time on “Auto Bild” 06/2001. We can find the only one test of BMW Z8 on Nordschleife “Auto Bild” 18/2000 without information about lap time.
https://www.autobild.de/artikel/bmw-z8-33686.html
(This article from “Auto Bild” 18/2000)
Also we can find in my opinion absolutely true lap time by Horst von Saurma on 20,600 m configuration of Nordschleife on “Sport Auto” magazine issue (08/2000) — 8 min. 18 sec.
https://www.autotestversand.com/e/12831/sport-auto-08-2000
(This issue)
So if we can, please — fix it.

The comparison lists for BMW and Mercedes have run out of room. Z8 and Z4 models can no longer be used in comparison.

I really want to see this car reborn, the successor of the legendary 507. Why I remembered it? Cause I've found out one article which is subject about possible old good retro cars' reborns: http://www.autobild.de/artikel/autos-die-uns-fehlen-teil-4-3766071.html
(Click "Zur Bildergalerie" to watch the list, if you don't verstehen German)
Had no idea where to put the article, so it's here to remember this nice future classic from BMW, which I liked the best from that list.
I really want to see almost all of the retro successors introduced! I loved how does also both MB C111 look, Opel Manta, Opel Commodore (it looks like a Mustang!), Fiat Spider, Alfa Sprint....

you forgot all the safety equipment and luxury ammenitys. most cars are heavy Because they have all those things. and its a good thing. better to be safer than sorry. dont get me wrong, it would be better if it were lighter, but say if you were to crash without those safety things, well you get the picture, and no improved laptime is worth yo life.

How does this little car with no roof weigh 3500lbs????????? Is the trunk full of bricks???? A car this small should only weigh 3000lbs MAX.

I own a M6 a 760 and a Z8. Whenever i drive with the Z8 and there is crowd they tell me how they love this car. A Viper or a SL65 are nice. But a Z8 is THE CAR. btw. this car is 8 years old and is still competitive with many new cars.

Dam it looks so sexy! One of the most beautiful roadsters of all time. Such a shame it doesn't drive as good as it looks.
