I would say it all depends on which VTI you have! Most 0-60 times were done on the premium model with the electric roof! My one with the manual Roof which made the car way lighter as I think the electric roof added a lot of extra weight due to the size of the massive boot it had to deal with.
I also found air and time of day made a difference with how the car ran! On a bad day you had to change from second gear around 56MPH and a good day it was way past 63MPH. I'm not sure what the to 60 time was but it was in the 7 second range on a none modified VTI, I found my mates Civic K20 type R was faster but not by that much.

Track performance for the EG range of civic is quite poor.. Somethings not right with the stock suspension.. might be spring rate and dampers? See video link below for proof.. The ek4 civic with the same engine and heavier weight runs the Tsukuba circuit in 1:11

Golf TSI 2009 is slower than CRX Del Sol VTI sure!
Golf TSI 2009: 122hp 1215Kg
CRX Del Sol VTI: 160hp 1080Kg
The Golf TSI 122 with DSG do 0-100Km/h in 9.5 seconds (data in Carfolio).

Yes, but...
0-60 mph = 7.5s (data in the review)
0-62 mph (0-100km/h) = 8.2s (data in fastestlaps)
I think that go from 60mph to 62mph don't take 0.7s. The 0-100 Km/h could be at 7.6 or 7.7 seconds.
