I have worked in the car business since I was 13 years old- no license. Back in the day when the local cops would pull you over to bum a cigarette, not to arrest or give tickets for having the fun of life. It was a Ford dealership I was working at after school and we would do things to every model that would make the engineers cringe/cry or get excited. And this happened at every dealer/ manufacture I worked for. It would be easier to say what manufactures I haven't worked for or with. Kia-Hyundia- Deawoo- and a few others. But experiencing every range and style allows me to give in depth truths that you see behind the scenes when you work in service like I do. ( Tech+ Service advisor Manager)
Everything from what vehicle and manufacture stand the test of time with the abuse I see from 90% of my customers. Lack of maintenance even when it's free. When leased, or they know that in 4 years or so get another vehicle. So these are coming in with conditions like a stolen vehicle thats been shared by different abusive drivers .. oil change never done or overdue by years and many miles. Minor dings scratches and using then vehicle like a number car or a blind persons feeler stick. Lots of stored codes from the basic loose gas cap to multiple misfires. And the best is when you work for Porsche and your older clients and many others, again 94+ clients bought the 911 or with ever and it's been 2 years or longer since purchased and yes it only has 1500 or more miles, and he keeps coming in every 3 months for a low oil light coming on along with the maintenance light blinking. And every time this guy gets my same speel and back at me. " Sir your vehicle is over due by time, not to mention the lack of driving this like it is meant to be driven-like an Italian car- Take & make Sunday drives into a HARD all out for a grun to get the blood= oil and everything flowing and burning off the cob webs. " TIME HURTS A VEHICE MORE THEN MILES" ... But no all they wanted was the free 1/2 low top off of the pricey synthetic oil and off they go) I would also never reset there maintenance reminder in hopes the flashing in your face gets it done??? All that being said of the hundreds of different vehicles I have owned, all the way to the thousands driven and racing SCCA , drifting in Japan in the early 1990's on my way back from Desert Storm we spent a long time in Tokyo and Okinowa and through a Racing connection in Ca. Tied to NBRE ( Newman/Brock racing enterprises) The next thing you know I am fine tuning and drifting in all of the great JDM toys,my connections had a let me run with ( in trade for the help donating blood and tears along with scars ) hanging out fixing/ upgrading and just talking out Each project). When I came back I was lucky to have bought and stored my 77 Celica/Supra-71 240z with triple Makuni carbs. Etc./ 72 510 with Z20 block and L18 SS HEAD/ 79 810 wagon that I brought back with left hand drive 3.0 L inline 6 ... We used as a parts runner/pit car and with some minor mods it could take SECA like some other high end name cars with mods. Many of my parts and several cars came from the Newman Brock race team storage buildings.Road along with world 500cc world champ Wayne Rainey, for fun not real AMA racing. And through my backside and my senses all go into my mental data base and I look back at each ride with each individual vehicle regardless 2 wheel 4 wheel and everything in-between.I can say without a doubt all of the manufactures have grown/& fine tuned for the last 20 years. But the American vehicles are still just a notch behind the Europeans & Japanese in quality and performance, except a few exceptions like Vette/Viper etc. There's not enough space to list the library of vehicles that have spent time w/me since my 1st car @12yrs was a VW/Buick/scamp/Celica-Supra,the Bottom line comes to YOU=If you always get excited when you see and drive it then that's the one!

No small car can even beat this, gimme a car that can beat this in 0-60 and top speed, this beats all honda's ever created. Honda sucks. this brakes much faster than an MDX, and handles a ton better too

This car is pointless and so is the X6. It sucks at parking, practicality, off road capability so why buy these kind of cars and buy a M5 touring.
Anonymous 17y ago
GEORGY is right about those facts and the X6,even though its a little heavy has terrible numbers for a twin turbo. BMW does not impress me.

What are u guys talking about it costing more than the X6??? Its actally $20k cheeper where I live and performance is up to par with the X6, even though the X6 has twin turbos........
we talk about the biggest car market on earth... the europen car market were this car cost 5,000Euro (~$6,400) more than a BMW X6 V8 twinturbo

maybe in ur eyes but the land rover defender will always have a lot of fans where as this ...

performance is up to par with the X6, even though the X6 has twin turbos......
Turbos on BMW new 5.0 V8 are not there for all-out performance (horsepower). The same applies to BMW's 3.0 bi-turbo.
It's the ugliest car on the planet.
I do not agree. I even think it is quite good looking for an SUV.
