Polo GTI 1.4 TSI competition
Sam 5y ago
VWs claimed 0-62 is 6.9. tested does 6.6 and pulls upto 142mph torque is capped at 250nm. Main competitors are the Corsa VXR, Fiesta ST & Clio RS. GTI has always had the better interior and cabin comforts, however the drive & handling has always been Known to be a bit bland. On a stage one remap the 1.4 6R Polo GTI can get between 200-220Bhp & 300-320nm of torque. stage 2 needs mods such as exhaust, intercooler & R8 ignition coils stage two should see figures between 240-260. All in all the Polo GTI is the perfect all rounder in the mini hothatch segment. Performance figures are strong but drivability is a bit weak. ST, VXR & Clio RS have a better following with parts being more widely available and cheaper than the GTIs

Är inte tjänste vikten 1169 på 3 dörrars och 1260 på en 4 dörrars skillnad på 91 kilo 2 dörrars kan det vara skillnaden på alla test värden

Any small car that can do 60 in under 7 seconds is quick, and considering how affordable they all are, it's a good time to be a speedfreak

i have no idea weather its just mine but my polo gti dsg is alot quicker than the stats suggest and its stock standard

I have the 1.4 TSI Polo GTI and a mark VI Golf 1.4 Tsi with sports pack. The polo is much faster accelerating, more responsive in the mis range and the engine is about 5 times as loud. The Golf feels more stable and assured- you notice the golf's extra width. The polo feels a bit jumpy by comparison - assisted by rock hard suspension which translates everything (which I like). I love the Polo gti. Its every bit the hot hatch/go cart I ever wanted.

i own a polo(7 DSG-180hp) gti and an opel corsa opc(192hp)..after a lot of testing here are the results:
polo gti: 0-100 -> 7,0 sec
0-200 -> 32,1sec
corsa opc:0-100 -> 7,05 sec
0-200 -> 33,4 sec
corsa opc wants 2,5 more sec for the 80-120.. my opinion is that polo is better not only because is faster but it is more safe and economic..

I don\'t know why they leave steering wheel in that Polo GTI. They put ESP that you can\'t turn OFF, they put DSG gearbox in it, they take all joy of driving hothatch. So if you feel like co-driver when driving, they can also take steering wheel and then you can sleep while driving.

@inline6rules it does..example cars with RWD and engine in the back have better start than RWD cars with engine located in the front.EXAMPLE:PORSCHE 911 vs Corvette Z06

@1.4TSI But not in Polo GTi, Ibiza Cupra and Fabia RS. Get YOUR facts right. ;)

6.8 s is tested. Why it can\'t be true? It has a DSG transmission so the gearchanges are very fast. The Corrado VR6 ( http://www.fastestlaps.com/car_VW_Corrado_VR6.html ) which has 190 PS (not 194) has a 5 speed manual. The Corrado VR6 is a 1992 car, this is a 2010 car. During nearly 20 years a lot of thing improved (e.g. tyres) which also count. The Polo has twincharger so the torque curve is also better. 6.8 s 0-100 km/h is true.
Since when heavy engine in the front mean better traction?
golf3diesel 16y ago
6.8 is to great to be true..remember what\'s on the speedo is not real speed...official :7.2(6.9 in other sources) 0-100 Corrado VR6 which has 40 kgs more and has 194 hp...and better traction do to the heavy engine in the front...

the polo gti will do subseven seconds given the fact that its lighter and features a 7 speed dsg with launch control and double clutch on top of the range gti limited editions. so expect to be amazed
