Funny diesel-oil/petrol battle.
Showing diffrences between those two engines.
Starting price of those 2 cars is similar.
Gt86 is superior when we talking about balance, handling and driving fun. Centre of graity is very low and car is lighter, engine rev out nicely.
But BMW is heavier, but mostly beceause it just bigger and more practical. Its not that balanced, but its not bad either. The real diffrence is torque, at 1700 rpm diesel engine triples Toyota torque.
And with new, little more expensive 125d version, with boosted engine to 218 HP and 450 NM propably quadruple 2.0 boxer tourqe.
Driving with this BMW would be easier, it is much better on high speed road, its much more economical.
At this level im not sure is this GT86 a better car, its for sure better drivers car, but not everyday car.
The things getting radical when we compare it with 125d, which basicly is equal fast or faster, while being more usable in everyday situations. Ofcourse there is no so much fun, but... in echcange we get much more stuff.
So... pretty weird conclusion that diesel in low range price car isnt as bad as some thought me included.
I propably would take 125d, but then, there is not too much of diesel power progression in those premium cars, so we can get 335d, which is much more expensive but not that much faster...
