Double the torque and it's just barely faster in a straight line. Makes you wonder

You have to rev the nuts off of that V10 to keep up with the Merc V12TT. Not difficult to guess which one of the engines will last longer.

This thing has less hp than M5 E60.
Can you use the M5 engine in it then? No - it will grenade itself even if you managed to couple it to that massive gearbox correctly (via some fluid clutch, otherwise it would instantly break its crankshaft).
Big engines are superior. No replacement for displacement.

It has twin turbos and much more money and tech put into it than the M5 of its time, it's really no surprise it is faster in the long run. But to think the M5 can actually keep up with it while the S65 still has a rather sluggish transmission at low speeds is a testament how much engineering matters instead of just giving it as much torque as possible that disappears in a cloud of smoke.
Something especially Dodge still has to learn.
As for reliability I can't judge. V12 engines even from Mercedes can be a really costly case if not maintained well.

S65 AMG is a modern take on the 427 Impala SS of 1967.
Edit: It would have to be the 426SW-powered Dodge Monaco of 1965. Mercedes owned Chrysler from 1998-2007.

V12 is more costly mostly because it is rare and there are less aftermarket parts and original spares are in short supply and price gauged.
Of course, there is the factor of having to change 12 spark plugs instead of 4, 6 or 8, having to worry about 2 turbochargers instead of 1 failing etc. But I think those are lesser problem than replacement parts.
