@Andro: Yea both Corvette and Ferrari have given consideration to an all-wheel drive system. But they always come to the conclusion that a true Corvette or Ferrari is rear-wheel drive. For PURE performance you CAN NOT beat all-wheel drive. But it does cut the fun factor somewhat. Also when you have two identical cars one with all-wheel drive and one with out. The two-wheel drive has a more comfortable ride quality in every case I've read about especially on cobble stone roads or bumpy roads.
The last case I read about was the Porsche Panamera.

@YoungSinatra: Hmm, well ok, seems like lambos are unique in this case as they have AWD. When comparing those i just had track times in mind where the 458 is faster than LP560.
@bob: I was fooled by the FR-layout and the GT-like look because if i think \"ferrari\" than i see MR supercars. On BestMotoring they also drove the 599 but you can\'t find direct comparissons on the net.
@all: But how should we compare? Shold we only look on performance figures and track times or should we compare by similar engeneering \"styles\"?

@andro,what i meant was that the press are comparing the 458 with the 12c,but on performance the 12c will be better than the gto,based on all their specs,even though the gto is more track than cruiser based

(Andro) I respectfully beg to differ. The 458 is a two-wheel drive NATRURALLY aspired V-8. The Murcielago is an all-wheel drive V-12. How could you think the Murcielago is a better match for the 458 than the Gallarado?? The 458 is already giving up two cylinders and an all-wheel drive system to the Gallarado.

@mcfan: Why 599 gto? The 599 is a high-speed cruiser, FR layout. It\'s a GT with an big motor in it.
MP4-12C and 458 are both MR, pure (super)sports cars, same category.

The 458 is my favorite all-around sports car in the world right now. But even I am shocked that it has slightly better numbers than the all-wheel drive Gallarado. I'm happy though:) And I would NOT argue with (gimbush). I'll agree the Gallarado edges out the 458 in pure looks. From what I read the 458 is also a much more comfortable tooling around daily driver also. Seating and foot pedal position etc.

I think the 459 isn\'t a competitor for Gallardos and it isn\'t a competitor for Murcielagos. It\'s kinda something in between those two.
It has more in commen with the MP4-12C.

waste of time comparing the mac12c with the 458,it needs to be compared with the 599 gto,looks at the stats,the only thing it will have in common will be the price!
