you are simply arguing about power to weight ratio and concluding that the cars for which it is higher must be faster around a track. there are plenty of counter examples to this argument: just look at balocco times and you will see lots of cars as fast as 135i with much lower p. to w. ratio. it should not be surprising that an alfa had better track performances compared to most similar power/weight cars, and be comparable to 135i. acceleration and max speed is another issue obviously.

for me it looks more like autopista 135i lap was a wet lap
pretty normale that a car with 70hp more, better traction, more torque, much better accleration, nearly identical weight, much much better weight blance is much faster... specialy on such a long test track like Balocco
Looking at the ranking were the Alfa fit at Balocco everything looks pretty correct to me... it finished right in its class between GTI, Mazda3, Mini Cooper S, Scirocco
The more powerfull Alfa Romeo 147 GTA was quicker like it should be..

not surprising the italian magazine \"auto\" drove this italian car much slower (6 seconds) than the german bmw 135i. however at inta, spanish magazine autopista got a better time with the giulietta. auto magazine was already infamously known for its anti-ferrari bias.
the reason why italians are happy and keep buying this \"auto\" magazine totally escapes me.
