uuhhhhmmm well, the RS5 doesn't have carbon fibre roofs or ultra expensive sport packs that are outdated every two weeks... it's more of a small GT coupe. If Audi was that concerned, maybe they would turbo it or design a V10 for it. BMW is a boys car it goes fast in corners... Benz and Audi always put it in its place on acceleration. Don't be a retard!!! BMW is a cheap thrill for little boys and men going through mid-life crysis'. last I checked M6 can't keep up with R8s 911s and Gallardos.... oh, and CLs... but cost more or less the same. when Benz and Audi make performance cars BMW can never match!!! #wonder how you will feel about the C-Class Coupe next year.. that should shake things up really# Oh and uhhmmm, the Top Gear laps just advertise people's favourite cars, eg. pitting a 760 against an S63, and not the S65... the CLK 63 was made to whip the M3 and size up the 645, they pitted the M3 against a a C63 sedan... and how does the Audi lose even though it has far better running gear and acceleration... I still hate Audi for toying with the fans though, isn't cool buying a car that you know could've been 6 x better(bi turbo V10 making about 600PS in the Nouvolari and Le Mans Concepts(A5 and R8)), Lord knows why they don't just make cars for the fansuuhhhhmmm well, the RS5 doesn't have carbon fibre roofs or ultra expensive sport packs that are outdated every two weeks... it's more of a small GT coupe. If Audi was that concerned, maybe they would turbo it or design a V10

@Wads, have driven the RS5 to France and back for the Easter WE. Motorway 95% of the time in Comfort mode. Avg consumption just south of 13L /100 over 1400kms...this is actually significantly better than my previous S5! And definitely better than I hoped it would be on such long distance trip...
Riko 15y ago
So Wads, I assume you are preparing one of your legendary reviews on the RS5 now? :-)
Georg 15y ago
15l/100km = 18.8mpg (UK) or 15.6mpg (US)
12mpg (UK) = 23.5l/100km or 9.9mpg US
jesus Wads..I reach such numbers only if I go full throttle all the time on the Autobahn reaching speeds of 160mph...how do you drive? 200miles race track or 200miles city racing flooring at each traffic light reving till redline? :D
Riko 15y ago
And in towm, it's a lot more...but then I drive my wife's Fiat 500 to do the shoping and keep the Audi for the road :-)

Wads, I look at this in litres/100kms. I think the best I can do with my 64 litres of petrol is slightly north of 425kms, so 15 L/100, driving in comfort mode, and never ever pushing the car over the speed limit. Thats terrible!

On topic.
The RS5 is a bit of a heavy. It can't perform so good at track.
I guess thats a fact here.
Rhyo 15y ago
Yo old guy Georg.
I guess you know everything about the old time. So you know Audi existed only 4 years earlier than BMW. I don't care if you don't believe the rating of the social brand value. Only I know is that BMW is riding solo... that is enough.
Georg 15y ago
LOL RHYO
this rating means absolutly NOTHING
this rating is as important as some rice dropping from a table in china it is only the option of Millward Brown company who did this rating...pay me enough money and I rate every company you like to the first place.. BMW always trys to fight it with Audi...Audi was in the luxury segment long befor BMW..
Audi was racing long befor BMW started car production
BMW was only lucky that their company was based in west Germany after ww2. That their main owners the Quandt family earned billions with slavary work (they owned Varta batteries during ww2) switched the bussiness to get a white west and pumped their money into BMW... in 1959 BMW was only one step away to be getting eaten by Mercedes(the same time Audi was eaten by Mercedes!) ...
The billions from Quandt allowed BMW to developt new models ... without that "dirty" money BMW would have passed into automobil walhala in the 60´s.
BTW... today 45% of all BMW cars sold are AWD... a route layed by Audi with the quattro :-p

Can you explain how Brand Value is computed here? Your numbers mean nothing until you have provided the methodology. How can Porsche, one of the most prestigious brands in the world not be more valuable than BMW? Their brand is so valuable that they have been selling pretty much the same car for 50 years, at an unbelievable premium to any other car in the Market. You cannot be talking about vehicle sales either because then VW or RNO would be ahead...please elaborate!
Rhyo 15y ago
@ FastestLaps
I was talking about brandvalue. But Yes you\'re right, but there\'s still a huge gap. Audi is doing good at the moment!
FastestLaps 15y ago
@Rhyo
when you say Audi is so old and has the first luxury sedans, so why is that they cannot compete with BMW?
They can and I am pretty sure they are outselling BMW branded cars for quite some time now.

@ Georg
So if I understand this correct what you are saying is that Audi has done some serious \"bad\" business? Cause when you say Audi is so old and has the first luxury sedans, so why is that they cannot compete with BMW? And I am not talking about cars, but wealth. The value of BMW is more than 4 times Audi.
