Camaros are indeed beating Lambos. But don't worry - they're beating a lot of other unnecessarily expensive things, too! credit to Al Op and his team!

Just because a tire is AA rated does not mean that it is "super soft". The rating is a test of a tire straight line wet (damp not standing water) braking performance. Many tires get AA rating including some grand touring and truck tires. Nothing to do with being super soft.
I would guess these tires would be on par with the regular PS2s.

Pirelli PZeros and Michelin PS2s have the same UTQG as the F1 G2s - 220 AA A - and could probably be considered equal to each other - and equally inferior to the PZero Corsas and Michelin PSCs, but unfortunately it isn't that easy as the Michelins are considered to be a bit better than Pirellis in both classes/cases; and anyway the Tire Quality Grade isn't that much telling of the performance.
Look, for example, at this: .tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=130
Same UTQG but the G2s are 1.5s faster. I haven't come across any direct comparos of the F1 G2s and some other tires but it may as well be that they are somewhere between Michelin PS2s and PSCs, being close in performance to either one of them.

@racerns: it is every bit as soft, but you are right, it does have more profile than the MPSC tires... the one i saw seemed to have little depth in the pattern, but maybe the picture was a bit misleading, seems the MPSC has less "depth" of the pattern than this Goodyear Eagle F1 supercar g:2

While it has a large outer tread block similar to a sport cup, it has alot more tread grooves and a wear rating of 220. It is a summer performance tire but not an "R" compound tire.

Not even Pilot Sport Cups according to this article.

Reuss drew our attention to the Camaro ZL1's Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 summer tires, sized P285/35ZR20 in front and P305/35ZR20 in the rear. "This isn't a cup tire," he said. "This tire has some tread to it." He told us it was used throughout the lap sessions.

This thing is ridiculous but I'm gunna call BS on street tires unless the ZL1 comes with Star Specs or RE-11s stock.
