However, Tesla Model S is progressing now and already occupied States, thanks to local government. But Fisker was just a PR disaster, because it didn't have any kind of support and, yes, it is just too contradictive.. with an exterior that you or love or hate.

Fisker makes on me two different impressions. Karma is an elegant extraordinary looking luxury saloon with lots of hi-tech. But on the other hand, it is just a hugely overpriced electric cuttlefish... I neither like it, nor hate it... It looks to me as a strange alien.

Fisker is simply made ahead of its time. For now Fisker is making a 35k loss with each unit sold. It is a beatiful and elegant luxury sedan to look at, but reason why Fisker cant sell it for more is that their concept is a contradiction in view of rich people's mentality. Luxury sedan and electric car to save on fuel is a contradiction as someone who is spending this kind of money doesnt need to be worrying about saving fuel money. However, some day our kids will laugh at the sound a V8 finding it vulgar and embarassing to be seen in. Electric cars are not fashionable enough yet and for environments sake noone will seriously be willing to buy one unless he has the mentality of a dalai lama.

@ Fangio Man: Look at the curb weight, that's ridiculously heavy, my stepdad's 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 crew cab pick-up weighs less than that.

@Shaggy
Indeed.

This has got to be the most pathetic sedan ever produced. Justin Beiber has one, need I say more?

@captainoddball!
"with that much power and torque i would think it would be a much better accelerator."

It weighs more than 2.5 tons due to the batteries...

Watched autocar video on this car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7AevkRcaxk&feature=channel_video_title

It is extraordinarily beautiful!

electric motors make tons of torque instantly! if it was gas powered or even diesel there wouldn't be that little power with more torque than a veyron.

User avatar

Anonymous  17y ago

all that dam torque is insane. but thisbwould be so mch better if this had the engine from the cl65 amg..but keep the 959lbft.

How is a Danish owed company making a cAr designed by a Dane and built in Finland an American car just because the company is based in America. Aston martin has engines made in Germany and has a german CEO but I think most people would agree it is British so how the hell is this American ?

User avatar

Anonymous  17y ago

This has a 200 bhp 2 litre engine to charge two batteries

User avatar

959 lb-ft? Makes me rethink electric cars!

User avatar

I'm not sure which is right.

User avatar

Chiesi  17y ago

402HP they say in the article

User avatar

427  17y ago

That should be 461 bhp combined.

Don't belive the numbers? http://www.automoblog.net/2009/01/16/detroit-2009-production-fisker-karma-sedan/
