strillari motor co  3y ago

le man homoligations required that all participating cars where no more and no less than 40 inches which is why it was known as the gt 40

..and yeah the 427 made 485hp at 6200rpms. But a bit moore at it`s true shiftpoints at 7400rpms

All the Mk2`s were built in LA USa by Holman-Moody inc

Yeah Ken, it was "a bit" faster than 2012mph and the engine was "a bit" stronger than announced

The car in the foto is not a Gt40Mk2

i sense a bunch of shitty six year olds that watched a movie and now they think they know everything about a gt40

Ken Miles  4y ago

Morons, was also not a front engine!! Definitely faster than 201mph. Maybe you are talking about the wrong car????

Someone who knows how fast a GT4  5y ago

Okay. This log is just bad.
First off and most importantly: This car clocked 225 on the Mulsanne Straight at 400 revs below max. 201mph is not the top speed of this car. Second, the 0-60 time is more like 5.2. It was a fast car, sure, but that big 427 weighed a ton (not literally). Third, and what most
disproves this entry: This is a mid-engined car.

Oh yeah? 350lbf from a raceprepped 427? Ma, this is so serious

hostboy  7y ago

I doubt the 0-60 mph time is 3.7

"Layout front engine, rear wheel drive"
Say wha?!?!?!

Delete! Only the MkI and MkIII were road legal; the MkII and MkIV were actually not.

@ Super8 & Viking: And it looks awesome and black. :-)

@Super8 that is a better picture indeed. Groovy looking GT-40, one of my favorite cars. Small, lightweight, mid-engine, big engine, what could be better. :)

GT40 is one of the best sounding cars in the world, IMO. Make your own opinion:

Can we change the main picture into this one?

Sorry the torque is 475 ft-lbs not 474 Nm

Well only a few road legal are built and this is only GT40 that fitted with 427 Ford V8 from Ford Galaxie. 2 of them that run in Daytona 1967 racing are fitted with Mercury 427 V8. They are same but it will be different case for collector
