Today I decided to refresh Fastestlaps performance estimates. Many new cars have been added since the last refresh, which meant many new interesting performance numbers - 507 to be exact.
For less eagle-eyed Fastestlaps visitors, I can remind that estimated performance figures, which include 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, full mile and 1 km standing acceleration, can be found in "Calculations" section in the cars specification sheet. Some cars have more and some less estimates - it depends on how much data we have for any given car. Estimates are not shown if there is real data in the same discipline.
Another thing I did and what was way overdue, is I updated the "Hall of Fame" page (About -> Hall of Fame) which holds a Top10 listing of best performing cars in Fastestlaps.
This new Top10 is very similar to how it was before, with the exception of Dodge Viper ACR and McLaren MP4-12C which are newcomers to the Hall of Fame and populate 5th and 6th place respectively.
Audi R8s and Lamborghini Gallardos are now pushed to the bottom of the list. I think it's time for Audi to implant it's magnificent twin turbo 4.0 V8 in R8 or develop a brand new chassis for R8 and Gallardo altogether. These cars are beginning to show their age.
