BMW 535d specs

Noe BMW offes the M 550d with 381 hp. Thats the second largest diesel engine. But VW also had the 5,0 tdi V10 with 313 hp and 350 in the Touareg R50. I tested the engine in 2006 in the Vw Phaeton.

Dede, that's for the previous engine. This one has 313PS.
The 5L diesel from VW is no longer into production.
Inline 6, that engine is not into an Audi at the moment, so no purpose for the comparison.

The Vw 5,0 v10 (Touareg and Phaeton) is the second strongest, just behind audi's 6,0 V12 engine in the Audi q7

you added the 300HP 3l engine from Audi when it's not on the market. It's still not released as far as I know of.
Considering that Mercedes put a 2.2l inline 4 in their S Class, I'd doubt they'll develop a high powered diesel anytime soon, unless they make one for the new S Class.

Yes, tri-turbo as in 3 turbochargers.
And this is the fastest diesel in the BMW range, faster than any diesel Audi or Mercedes (except for the 4.2 Audi A8 diesel and also the Q7 V12 TDI).
Also, the C Class is a 3 Series competitor.

The BMW 5 Series price list lists this 313PS engine, so I dug out the specifications from the BMW Germany page.
BMW will introduce a tri-turbo 3L diesel as an answer to Audi's 4.2l V8. However that Audi engine is only available in the Q7 and A8 cars, so it's pretty limited to high end cars and from what I know, the 3L engines is where the fight is and BMW is kicking ass there.
Also, for MY2012 they have updated the "standard" 3l engine to 258PS.
Also, new for MY2012 is the 535d xDrive. Yes, 535d xDrive, which is what BMW should have done a long time ago. Too bad they haven't introduced B&O sound yet, as with the new 6 Series.

Mercedes seriously need a biturbo V6 diesel and a new V8 turbodiesel.
The strongest diesels in the German market:
1. Audi's 500 PS 6 liters.
2. Audi/VW 340-350 PS 4.2 liters.
3. Audi's 314 PS 3 liters.
4. BMW's 286-313 PS 3 liters.
4. Range Rover's (Ford) 313 PS 4.4 liters
6. Toyota's 286 PS 4.5 liters
7. Jaguar's (Ford) 275 PS 3 liters.
8. Mercedes' 265 PS 3 liters.
Mercedes should be among the top 3 or 4.

Where did you found these datas? The bmw.de still shows the 300 PS 535d's datas.

It's discontinued. The strongest diesel engine in the GL-class is 265 PS.

The 4 liters diesel became discontinued in 2010. The strongest Mercedes diesel now is the 265 PS 3 liters 350 CDI.

Well in my opinion Mercedes dosent want to talk about diesel engines lol.

Beacause i belive they can make very economical diesel but not very fast one.

How about Mercedes 400 CDI V8? Or is it discontinued?

I wonder what will be the Mercedes' answer? Mercedes neither has V8 a turbodiesel nor a 300+PS V6 biturbo diesel.

Yes , but they soon will have.750d is coming up in 2013.I have to admit the Quattro system gives an advantage in acceleration.

This increase of power was a direct answer to Audi's 300+ V6 TDI.

But BMW still don't have an answer for the V8 TDI

I want to know which is faster,the C7 A6 3.0TDI(314PS) and F10 535D(313ps).

This should be a bit faster..than the less powerful F10 535d.

I've also sent performance times, maybe a mod will update them soon.

This is the new 535d F10, with a new engine for MY2012. Not to be confused with the 306PS engine. BMW updated the engine lineup for MY2012 (starting Autumn 2011).
