yeah this engine can rev 7000 rpm plus without any problem " Autosport " and reach more than 153 mph with 3.70 , and maybe 175 with 3.08 , but the standard final ratio was the 3.70 and 3.31 ,3.55 , 4.11 and 4.55 in optional .

@ Bijan : Yeah! I heard that too. But the fastest one should be the Ram Jet FI. That car was stolen my father's heart since it's the fastest Fuel Injection Corvette. But on the track, it's different story. My father estimated it can reach faster than 150 mph.

@ Super8 : your father's opinion is absolutely right about chasing GTO 250 and Cobra 289 , by the way your father is a lucky man .
Patrick Mcnally from Autosport magazine tested a standard version of 327 FI and reach to 148.5 mph with 3.7 rear end .

@ Bijan : My father already drive this one when he still worked at GM He said this car has the best handling for C2 Corvette and he can reach almost 150 mph without any problem with standard 3.7 final ratio. He said, if the car were modified a little, he could chase Ferrari 250 GTO or even the mighty Shelby Cobra.

@ Super8 : quite right , the Z06 package offered in 1963 included a 20 percent larger diameter front anti-roll bar , heavy duty suspension , competition shocks , stiffer springs , a vacuum brake booster , a dual master cylinder , sintered-metallic brake lining within power assisted Drums , 36.5-gallon fuel Tank , aluminum knock-off wheels , Positraction differential and ..........

This is the fastest Corvette in 1963. The road version of the racing Z06. Well i guess the successor of this car is C6 Z06
