Do they do the real wheel drive V8 conversion on this like they did the last focus?

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend.

Kickboxing is very confining, be like water and isn't kickboxing a pussy version of muay thai.

Look up the millbrook handling track and compare the times for the st and opc with the same driver? St just pipped the opc. Certain tracks suit certain cars better than others due to the way the car is set up suspension gearing torque etc....
Anonymous 16y ago
Dont compare the nurburgring times for the st and astra with two different drivers, u can only compare when its the same driver testing both cars,every driver is going to set different times.
Neutral 16y ago
The difference in time is all down to the driver, how hard he,s willing to push the car and also knowledge of the track.U could swap the drivers round and get completely different times.

@porschisti
not as sporty as the golf gti? by not as sporty do you mean not as slow, borign looking and overpriced as the golf gti? if so, i agree.
Porschisti 17y ago
a five cilinder turbocharged car for the masses. great.
Exactly.
A comfartably, well priced compact car with a nice sounding engine.
But not as sporty as an Golf GTI Mark V.

@VXR
the Focus is identical all around the world expect the USA.. all around the world the Focus use the Ford C1 platfrom developt by Ford Germany, only the Focus in the USA still use the old C170 platform the different between a German and New Zealand or Aussi Focus are minimal ... as I said befor there is a different between what is writen on paper no matter if manufactor claim or car registration numbers and real weight. Today are nearly all cars more heavy as manufactor claimed for a simple reason... they claim the weight with no options added to the car...optinal stuff like leather, larger rims, spoiler electric this and that adds many kg to the basic weight..btw a large part of the Aussi sold Focus are build in Saarlouis Germany they roll from the same line as the europen Focus

Hey Georg has I said different countries have different specifications I know that the Focus St in Australia is also diffrent from the one we have here. So whatever results sportauto gets from thier tests, it wont apply to all the St's around the world. When vehicles are licensed in my coutry they are weighed and the weight is put on the license disc the procedure is standard for all vehicles. Actually the 2dr St shows 1307kg tare and mines shows 1393kg tare on the license disc i checked my buddies ST today.
Georg 17y ago
there is a huge different bewteen factory claimed Focus ST weight of 1392kg and real world weight..
2009 sportauto 1452kg
2007 sportscars 1460kg
2007 sportauto 1430kg
2006 sportauto 1472kg
nearly all tested Focus ST are more than 1450kg in the real world.. compared to Astra OPC rel world weight
2006 sportauto 1367kg
2008 sportauto 1367kg
2006 auto motor und sport 1352kg
2005 sportauto 1375kg
in average the OPC is 75-100kg lighter than the ST

ford notice the lack of power and realise that needed to do something to it. so they asked a tuning team and sport team to make the car faster in a offical way. so its like AMG from mercedesbenz, or the cowsworth from ford.
Anonymous 17y ago
The steinmatz tuned astra was an aftermarket, unofficial car which will render vx's warranty invalid.
The ford mountune st was an official, ford backed and approved, official release with manufacturer warranty intact, it is also listed as a different type of focus st on the insurance websites as its an official new car released by ford so to speak.
They cant be compared.
Anonymous 17y ago
Vxr, two probs with the weights you got form that site.
the 2007 focus st was EXACTLY the same as the 2005 focus st, the facelift didnt occur until 2008, shit website it seems. The weight of the st did not increase with the facelift anyway!
