A US car website managed about 6.5s 0-60. The European figures are 0-62 (100kph; about .2 difference or so for this car) and the official for the soft top is 7.6s, 7.9 is for the folding hard top which is 80kg heavier.
Seems like they are underselling the car, and it will beat this figure but if you look at an MX-5 purely on the acceleration it is not the right car for you. It is such fun to drive, far more than a supercar that you cannot drive near its limits without a driving ban.
Mental,
An aftermarket turbocharger for this sets you back about £4500 installed, and takes it to around 250-300 bhp (your choice: power or longevity). The set-up was allegedly designed to allow for boost, both in the engine strength & cooling and in space in the engine bay.
That will sort out a few rivals.

Dirtdickler is completely wrong. The 0-60 of the 167hp is what is quoted here and is officially around 7.6 seconds. The 139hp version takes around 9 seconds. There is no model that does it in 6.3 seconds, only in dirtdicklers dreams.

Yea, this car is little too pussy. There is a lot of them on the marked, like being convirtable roadster si everything you need.
But its not edgy machine, its just a entry level roadster.
And i dont bring any attention, to any cars, just write some my opinions, with no other intention in it.

The 0-10mph time seems to be a bit off, see here .youtube.com/watch?v=Spgou_UQ0Bc also, a 0-200kph time could also be deduced from this

In the United States this car NC MX-5) has 167hp/ 140lb-ft and runs 0-60 in 6.3 seconds & 1/4 mile in 14.8
Other than the - 9hp )167hp vs. 158hp) I wonder why this euro version MX-5 is so much slower??
